Warrick Parks Foundation Unveils Blue Light Emergency Phone Beacons in Both Warrick County Parks

NEWBURGH, Ind. (November 30, 2023) – The Warrick Parks Foundation (www.WarrickParksFoundation.org), a nonprofit organization whose mission is to help maintain Warrick County’s parks and trails for generations to come, is thrilled to announce it recently installed blue light emergency phone beacons at both Friedman Park and Scales Lake Park. These highly-visible, solar-powered, weatherproof, wireless emergency phones are the first emergency systems located in any area park.

“With the incredible popularity of Warrick County’s beautiful outdoor spaces, the Warrick Parks Foundation chose to focus its funding on added safety measures,” said Laurel Meny, Warrick Parks Foundation Executive Director. “The installation of these state-of-the-art beacons will provide simple one-touch connection to emergency authorities for all park and trail visitors and were made possible through the generosity of Pam and Jerry Aigner; Cyndi and Chris Byrley; and Dr. and Mrs. Adeel Siddqui, 2023 Annual Gala attendees.”

According to Terry Phillippe, Warrick County Commissioner, “By forming a working partnership with the Warrick Parks Foundation, the residents and visitors of Warrick County will all benefit from upgrades like this. We are excited to be the first recreational spaces in the area to add emergency phone beacons to our already comprehensive security plan.”
